Goodreads Summary:

My name is Evie Claremont and this was to be the making of me–my freshman year of college. I’d been hoping that once I’d arrived on Crestwood’s campus, the nightmare that I’ve been having would go away. It hasn’t.
I may be an inexperienced seventeen-year-old, but I’m grounded…sane. I look for rational explanations to even the strangest circumstances. Since meeting sophomore Reed Wellington, however, nothing makes any sense. Whenever he’s near, I feel an attraction to him–a magnetic kind of force pulling me towards him. I know what you’re thinking…that sounds fairly awesome. Yeah, it would be…if he liked me, but Reed acts as if I’m the worst thing that has ever happened to Crestwood…or him. But get this, for some reason every time I turn around he’s there, barging into my life.
What is the secret that he’s keeping from me? I’m hoping that it’s anything but what I suspect: that he’s not exactly normal…and neither am I. So, maybe Crestwood won’t be the making of me, but it could be the breaking of me. I’ve been left to wonder if the dark future my dream is foretelling is…inescapable.

My Review:

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this book because I didn’t read the summary of it before I started reading it but I have to say that I really liked it. The story in the beginning before any plot twists happened was relatable because she is just starting college and then everything that happens after that is anything but normal. I love books like this one and I won’t say what any of the plot twists are because that is the basis of book one, but it was such a fun read and it was one of those books that made me forget I was reading and I felt like I was in Evie’s world.

Obviously the main male figure who seems sketchy and doesn’t like her at first is the main love interest, that is never a surprise. However, that is always my favorite part of the relationship in any series because I love feeling the transition from not liking each other to loving each other. This book made me feel like I was falling in love with Reed which made it even better. The only part I didn’t like about this book was how they fell in love so fast. I know it’s a fantasy book and they always end up falling in love but I felt like in this book they went from not liking each other to being in love in only a few pages. It was super abrupt and it actually annoyed me more than I thought it would. Even with that said, I am still in love with Reed and I cannot wait to get more of him.

Russell was an okay guy and the story with him made the book even more interesting but I didn’t like him. I think I was supposed to be torn between him and Reed but there was honestly no competition because I kind of just wanted him to go away… Freddie was an amazing character and I loved him and I wanted him to be my friend but I was really mad at the author at the end because of what she did with him. Buns and Brownie were amazing friends and I wanted to be their friends too because they seem to have so much fun. I like the story line and what the author did with their characters at the end. The ending of this book was ridiculous and I actually had to take time off from reading for a couple of days to let it sink in because I was so upset and blown away with everything the author did.

All of the story elements of this story made me addicted and I just wanted to forget about this world and go into that one and pretend like Reed was my perfect boyfriend and I cannot wait to read the next book!

I would definitely recommend this series for Reed alone…you can buy the book here.

My Review: This book was even better than the first book which often happens with series I think.

Will is my newest book crush but I have to say, I think I like Cadan even more. Something about demonic and dangerous boys gets me. Both of them are equally crush worthy though so either way, I’m one happy fangirl.

I didn’t like the main character and how often she cried and how many times she needed Will to save her. I wanted her to toughen up and take responsibility for everything and kick some demon booty. With the way that this book ended though, I have a feeling she is totally going to turn into a badass which will be fantastic. As far as main characters go though, she was okay.

I absolutely love Marcus and i’m not sure why. He just has such a calming character in the book and he feels like an older brother or something. I also really like Nathanial and I am not happy with his situation, that’s all I can say on that topic.

The book had an interesting and fast paced plot but it got to the point where I wasn’t sure how the author was going to continue for a whole other book but then the ending happened. It was seriously insane and I didn’t think she would go that far but she did it and I am freaking out writing this review because I just HAVE to read the next one. Review coming soon because I am addicted.

I would definitely recommend this series to all of you. It’s fantastic. You can buy it here.
