Winter (Lunar Chronicles #4) by Marissa Meyer

Winter (The Lunar Chronicles, #4)

Goodreads Summary: Princess Winter is admired by the Lunar people for her grace and kindness, and despite the scars that mar her face, her beauty is said to be even more breathtaking than that of her stepmother, Queen Levana.
Winter despises her stepmother, and knows Levana won’t approve of her feelings for her childhood friend—the handsome palace guard, Jacin. But Winter isn’t as weak as Levana believes her to be and she’s been undermining her stepmother’s wishes for years. Together with the cyborg mechanic, Cinder, and her allies, Winter might even have the power to launch a revolution and win a war that’s been raging for far too long.
Can Cinder, Scarlet, Cress, and Winter defeat Levana and find their happily ever afters?

My Review: This series ended with such an epic book and a huge war and it was amazing. Good versus evil was huge in this book and I really liked reading about Princess Winter even if she is a little crazy from refusing to use her Lunar gift of manipulation.

The entire gang got back together in this book to fight Queen Levana and it was extremely addicting and I couldn’t stop until I found out how it ended. I really enjoyed how good Marissa Meyer got at being subtle about the connections between her main characters and story book characters, in this book it was Winter and Snow White and Levana being the evil witch which was amusing.

This book was crazy and if you haven’t read book one than I can’t say much specifically about the characters because every twist led up to the plot of this book but I will say that this book was amazing and this series is definitely worth the read. It started out a bit iffy but it definitely grew on me and I would recommend it!

The romance wasn’t a huge part of this book but there was definitely enough to keep me reading! I loved cress and Thorne specifically…and of course Prince kai!

Cress (Lunar Chronicles #3) by Marissa Meyer

Cress (The Lunar Chronicles, #3)

Goodreads Summary: Even in the future. there are damsels in distress…
In the third installment of the Lunar chronicles, Cress, having risked everything to warn Cinder of Queen Levana’s evil plan, has a slight problem. She’s been imprisoned on a satellite since childhood and has only ever had her netscreens as company. All that screen time has made Cress a great hacker. Unfortunately, she’s just received orders from Levana to track down Cinder and her handsome accomplice.
When a daring rescue of Cress involving Cinder, Captain Thorne, Scarlet, and Wolf goes awry, the group is separated. Cress finally has her freedom, but it comes as a high price. Meanwhile, Levana will let nothing prevent her marriage to emperor Kai. Cress, Scarlet and Cinder may not have signed up to save the world, but they may be the only hope the world has.

My Review: Oh stars where to begin?

This book was AMAZING! It consumed my every thought and all I ever wanted to do was read the rest of the book and see what happened!

The new character Cress is amazing and I love her and reading in her point of view! The similarities to Cress and Rapunzel were fun and that entertained me when I first got introduced to her character. She quickly became my new favorite character in the series! Dr. Erland also makes a comeback and he is super entertaining as well. Everyone’s separate stories were great but the book just got so addicting once everyone met up again! I mean, the amount of action and even some romance and plots to save the world were just…wow.

Cress and Thorne…well I’m totally rooting for them! Super cute couple. I didn’t even think of Thorn as book boyfriend worthy until I read in her point of view. The whole story about them falling to Earth from her satellite and travelling through the desert together was my favorite part of the story. Scarlet and wolf were cute but when they get separated wolf turns in to a huge useless baby and it was kind of annoying to read… Kai and cinder though…My heart is still all for Kai! So much love for a fictional character!!

This book is entertaining, there’s action there’s romance, adventure, and so so much more. This was my favorite book of the entire series, I just loved it so much! I definitely recommend this book to scifi fantasy lovers! You can buy Cress here.

Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles #1) by Marissa Meyer

Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles, #1)

Goodreads Summary: Humans and androids crowd the raucous streets of New Beijing. A deadly plague ravages the population. From space, a ruthless lunar people watch, waiting to make their move. No one knows that Earth’s fate hinges on one girl.
Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg. She’s a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s illness. But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai’s, she suddenly finds herself at the center of an intergalactic struggle, and a forbidden attraction. Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, she must uncover secrets about her past in order to protect her world’s future.

My Review: I have had this book on my TBR list for a really long time and my book club decided to read it which worked out perfectly for me!

The book started out a little slow for me because it seemed too similar to Cinderella but it picked up pretty quickly once the plot line was introduced. The whole cyborg thing mixed with a plague was fantastic and I have never read anything like it which was great and then the inclusion of alien creatures made the book even more unique. The only thing I didn’t like was how easily I figured out how the book was going to end, so there weren’t many things that caught me off guard but it was good regardless.

The whole insta-love thing was kind of annoying, but it was Cinderella so I expected it. The Prince did grow on me though because of the few times I got to read through his point of view. By the end of the book I was completely pro-prince-and-cinder.

I cannot wait to read the next one because the book may have ended how I thought but I have no idea what is going to happen next. I am hoping to fall madly in love with the Prince like in Cinderella.

You can buy Cinder here, and I recommend it. What did the rest of you guys think of Cinder?
